MEET OUR EYELASH EXTENSION TRAINERS
Deanna started her career as a certified orthodontic and dental assistant. Shortly after completing that program, she became a certified nail technician. For the next twelve years, Deanna continued to work as both a dental assistant and a nail technician. Since then, she became a licensed esthetician and a permanent makeup artist. In 2007, Deanna was certified as a Lavish Lashes Eyelash Extension Professional. She has worked in spas in both Rhode Island and Virginia and recently started her own eyelash and microblading business in Alexandria, VA.
Q: Why did you decide to become an eyelash extension professional?
A: I stumbled into the business of eyelash extensions by pure luck. I was given a Nova lash kit left behind by the previous owners of Facing Thayer in Providence, RI. I did some research and decided to purchase a Lavish Lashes kit and training class. I took my class in November of 2007. I can still remember how excited I was telling my husband about what I had learned in class and not being able to wait to get started!
Q: Why did you choose Lavish Lashes for your training and certification?
A: Although I had the Nova lash kit, I did my research and Lavish Lashes seemed to be the most focused on the health of the natural lashes. Coming from the medical field, health and safety was then—and is now— very important to me.
Q: What advice would you give someone who is questioning whether a certification with Lavish Lashes is worth the investment?
A: For me, my Lavish Lashes certification has been my favorite and most lucrative of all my certifications. I would certainly encourage anyone who is interested in eyelash extension certification to make the investment—it is worth every penny.
Q: Did it take long to recoup your investment?
A: I started seeing clients shortly after becoming certified. The spa I worked in was incredibly popular and I booked up quickly. Charging $250 for a full set, I was able to get lots of practice and recoup my investment before long.
Q: What are your favorite lash products to work with and why?
A: I love all the Lavish Lashes products! The lashes I use most are the bold minks and elite bond is my favorite adhesive. My clients all love the feel of the silky anti-wrinkle gel pads and the turbo fan for drying. I have Lavish Lashes mascara on hand to sell as retail or offer as a gift to my Lash clients. The Lavish Lashes tweezers are the best by far, as they feel so lightweight in your hand and are truly an extension of your fingers.
Q: Why did you want to become a trainer for Lavish Lashes?
A: For years, I dreamed of becoming a Lavish Lashes trainer, but the timing was never right. I am truly passionate about both the procedure and the product. I feel so lucky every day to be doing something I love, while making my clients look and feel amazing.
Q: Do you always recommend taking both the Basic and Advanced Courses?
A: The advanced course can be very helpful as you are getting started in the lash business. The extra one-on-one time with a trainer really helps to build confidence in your work. There is always a considerable difference in the speed and accuracy of students between days one and two. The extra day gives you extra confidence to succeed.
Q: What is the most important thing you can teach your students?
A: Accuracy is more important than speed.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you can give your students as they begin their Lavish Lashes career?
A: Even with almost ten years of experience doing lashes, I always like to book plenty of time with each of my clients. Never rush. Start with clean lashes, even if it means taking the extra time to clean them—your clients will appreciate you!
Q: What’s the best thing about being a Lavish Lashes trainer?
A: I love being a trainer for Lavish Lashes! I can share my passion with other eager students and meet so many amazing women along the way.
Q: How would you describe your experience with the company?
A: My experience with Lavish Lashes has been a great one. The products are unsurpassed, as is their customer service. I have been doing business with Lavish Lashes much longer than I have been training and it has been a lovely experience.
Q: What do you think sets Lavish Lashes apart from other eyelash extension companies?
A: Lavish Lashes has been around longer than most other companies. They have a great reputation and many years of experience making our eyes beautiful.
Q: What other passions do you have when you are not working or teaching?
A: The most important thing in my life, besides my work and my business, is my family. I have two beautiful daughters and am lucky to be married to my loving and supportive husband.
